Trying to make sense of all the information available about sunscreen can be very frustrating. As a UV-protection fanatic, I have tried to look past the fear mongering, clear up contradictory or unclear information, and sufficiently make sense of the available information so I can make informed decisions when it come to sun protection. I have organized this information into a few blog posts:
Part 1:
-
Overview of UV rays. Why you need to use a sunscreen with both UVA and UVB protection
-
How Antioxidants play a part in UV protection
Part 2:
-
All about the FDA, approval of filters, and Safety
-
Why you should consider using non-FDA approved sunscreens
To see the sunscreens I’ve reviewed, see here.
I just wanted to say thank-you. You have written the most well-informed post on sunscreen I have ever come across – and I have seen loads of them. You may not consider yourself a scientist, but you have a very scientific approach to research. I wish there were more like you out there!
