Here is my assortment of empties this month from left to right:
My skin changes drastically when Autumn and Winter roll around, so I have been frantically trying to finish up some of my items that are better suited for summer. Here are my empties from September and October!
Empties I Would Repurchase / Have Repurchased
Benton Honest TT Mist – Full review here. This is my third tube of this mist and I already have 3 backups in my stash. I spray it at least twice a day on the around my nose and mouth, which is very prone to redness. It’s really good at calming and preventing irritation for me. Continue reading
It’s the start of a new months so it’s time for another (really long) empties post! Is anyone else upset about how quickly summer is slipping away?
Items I Used Up
Let’s Cure Pure Skin Basic Skin Exfoliator – Will Repurchase
Full review here. This is a simple but functional pH adjusting toner with just enough hydrating properties to make my skin feel normal again after cleansing. I purchased the CosRX AHA/BHA toner as a replacement because I was curious about it, but I’m missing the Let’s Cure one already.
Purchased through Avecko. It is also available on Memebox. Continue reading
In a continuing effort to cut down on my skincare stash, I’ve been doing semi-regular empties posts. This post has the products I finished up in June along with a bunch of discount codes for Memebox that I’ve accumulated over the past couple of months that I definitely won’t be able to use up by my own.
Clockwise from the top:
Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil
I reviewed this a few months ago here and since that time, this oil has grown on me and I think I like it a little bit better now than I did when I wrote my review. That said, it’s still not my favorite and I had some difficulty finishing this and ended up using up a lot of it on my arms when I realized it expired in early June. Will not repurchase, but 100% will keep and re-purpose the bottle because it’s so gorgeous! Continue reading

I just wrapped up part 1 of a project at work that has completely taken over my life the past couple of weeks. I’m hoping to make some progress on the backlog of posts I have in my draft file, but in the meantime, here is a quick rundown of the things that I emptied in February!
NIP + FAB GLYCOLIC FIX PADS – These were a sample from the Target January 2016 Refresh Beauty Box and I actually quite like them. I have not been using chemical exfoliants since starting tretinoin a few months ago but it’s been something I’ve been wanting to reintroduce. They have a good amount of alcohol, which I don’t love, but the exfoliating action is mild enough for me to use in conjunction with tretinoin. I’m planning to give Pixi Glow Tonic a try next, but if those don’t work out I may give the full size of these pads a try.
MIZON SEA WEED JELLY SCRUB – I usually stay away from physical exfoliants because when I use them, I end up compulsively sanding my skin into submission, which leaves my skin soft but is so, so irritating. This scrub, made of seaweed jelly and konjac pieces, is extremely gentle and seems proofed against users like me. I use this by applying on dry skin, moving it around my skin, and then jumping in the shower to rinse it off.
SULWHASOO EVERFAIR PERFECTING CUSHION REFILL (housed in an Etude House Sand Cat Cushion) – I’m a NC25, which is slightly too dark for most Korean cushions. This cushion in #25 is a pretty good fit and when used in conjunction with a beauty blender, makes for an incredible finish – thin and natural looking but with decent coverage.
KLAIRS JUICY DROP – This is an ascorbic-acid based Vitamin C serum that is suitable for sensitive skin. To be honest, I don’t really notice much of an effect, good or bad, with this serum and was determined to finish it mostly so I can go back to using my HG Skinceuticals CE Ferulic Serum.
FROM NATURE AGE TREATMENT ESSENCE – This is my favorite first essence to date! It is intensely hydrating and makes my skin smooth and glowy. Of all the items I finished in February, this is probably the one that I will repurchase.
What products did you guys finish in February?
Quick post for today! In a continuing effort to stop buying new things and actually use up things that I have, I will be sharing which products I’ve used up every month. As such, here are the things I’ve used up in January:
Let’s Cure Honeybunny 40 Propolis Ampoule – full review here
Of all the honey / propolis products I’ve used, this is my favorite. It’s the closest thing to an all-in-one product that works for my skin. If you don’t mind a somewhat strong scent, I highly recommend it!
Benton Honest TT Mist – full review here
I went through this thing really fast! This is great for calming my skin and is exceedingly gentle!
The Yeon MaYou 8 Multi Care Cream
I mentioned this cream in my horse oil ingredient spotlight post. It doesn’t have enough water content on its own for my skin, but if I apply over a body gel or immediately after stepping out of the shower, it leaves my skin buttery soft and smooth. I likely will not repurchase, simply because it smells strongly like orange flavored Pez candy.
Curology – reviewed here
This is my second prescription. This obliterated my acne and would have done the same with my post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, except I had to stop using it as frequently because it was so harsh on my skin. My third prescription is less potent but it’s still got my acne in check!
Not pictured because I threw these out too quickly—>
CosRX Advanced 92 Snail All In One Cream
Biore Aqua Rich Watery Gel – reviewed here
I don’t even know how many bottles of this I’ve gone through but it’s a lot! This is my favorite sunscreen for day-to-day usage because it dries super quickly and leaves no cast.
And that’s it for January! I actually liked all of these products quite a bit and used them all fairly regularly. For February, I’m trying to focus on using up some products that I don’t reach for as frequently, so I can be done with them. What have you guys finished for January??
