Nov & Dec Empties

Happy 2017 everyone! These are my empties from November and December of 2016:

Benton Honest TT Mist
My 4th or 5th bottle? Honestly at this point I’ve lost track. The air seal on this tube broke towards the end which made it a little difficult to use and as I’ve finished more and more of these, I’m realizing this product isn’t super consistent from one tube to the next. Some smell very noticeably of tea tree while others barely have any detectable scent at all. Still, this is such a useful anti-redness mist for me that I keep going back to it. I still have two tubes on hand and will probably repurchase, although I’ve also been meaning to try out some other tea tree products to see how they compare.

Femmue Global Youth Spring Water
Smells nice, didn’t do much for me. Will not be repurchasing.

I’ve been cutting down drastically Curology usage these past couple of months. Even after a year of usage, tretinoin still makes my skin sensitive and more irritable than it normally is. Nowadays, I use this as spot treatment to stop the few breakouts I get in their tracks and it still works very well to that end. In 2017 I’m looking to explore gentler retinoid options and refocus more on chemical exfoliation because I think those categories of products are better suited for my skin goals at this point.

From Nature Age Treatment Essence
This is my 2nd bottle, and I’m already well into my third one. This stuff is deepy hydrating and makes my complexion glow. My skin doesn’t feel the same without it. Will repurchase as long as this is available!

Skin Deva 20% Vitamin C + E + Ferulic Acid Serum
This is a well formulated L’Ascorbic Acid serum with the added benefit it is super resistant to oxidation. I like it and will probably repurchase.

Naruko 60 Actives La Creme – Deluxe Sample
I think I liked this but honestly it wasn’t very memorable. Will not repurchase.

Manyo Factory Bifida Complex
For an ampoule, this is not targeted enough for my skin’s specific needs for me to repurchase this but I liked the feel, texture, and general experience of using this enough that it makes me want to give some of the other Manyo Factory ampoules a try.

Stratia 10% Mandelic Acid Gel
I went through two beta-versions of this acid and love it. Gentle enough to use daily (I started out using this once every 3 days and worked my way up to daily use) but effective enough to help brighten my skin and keep it smooth. Also, you know how most AHAs smell terrible? This one doesn’t! It’s got a faint sweet scent that isn’t offensive at all. Will repurchase.

2Sol Springtime Light Ampoule // 이솔 봄날 빛고운 앰플
This is called an ampoule but its got a watery texture typical of first instances. The ingredients list is short and sweet, composed of galactomyces, bifida, and lactobacillus ferment filtrate and nothing else. This was my favorite first essence until I started using the From Nature one. It’s not as deeply hydrating or brightening but it does feel more nourishing in some ways. I probably won’t repurchase this just because I’m so fond of the From Nature one, but would enthusiastically recommend this to anyone in search of a good first essence.

The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA
[Not pictured because I threw out the bottle before I took this picture] Matrixyl is a trademarked peptide that’s supposed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. On my skin, I didn’t notice any anti-wrinkling effects but this serum did function well enough as a hyaluronic acid product. The texture is goopier and gellier than I prefer (readers of this blog have probably caught on by now that I’m not the biggest fan of gel textures) so I use this by mix 1 part serum with 1 part water. Will not repurchase.

Have you guys tried any of these products? If so, what did you think of them?

Disclaimer: All products here were purchased by me except the Skin Deva serum, which was a press sample provided by Skin Deva, and the Stratia Mandelic Gel, which I was provided as a beta-tester in exchange for feedback. This post does not contain affiliate links.
