June Empties + Memebox Discount Codes

In a continuing effort to cut down on my skincare stash, I’ve been doing semi-regular empties posts. This post has the products I finished up in June along with a bunch of discount codes for Memebox that I’ve accumulated over the past couple of months that I definitely won’t be able to use up by my own.

June Empties

Clockwise from the top:

Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil
I reviewed this a few months ago here and since that time, this oil has grown on me and I think I like it a little bit better now than I did when I wrote my review. That said, it’s still not my favorite and I had some difficulty finishing this and ended up using up a lot of it on my arms when I realized it expired in early June. Will not repurchase, but 100% will keep and re-purpose the bottle because it’s so gorgeous!

2Sol Elixir Propolis Serum
Full review here. Great ingredient list but lackluster performance. Will not repurchase but I will definitely be trying out more 2Sol products in the future because I like the thought that goes into their products. I just need to find the product that suits my skin.

2Sol Galactomyces Power Ampoule
So this one emptied one me before I got around to doing a full review. It contains 100% galactomyces ferment filtrate, is called an ampoule, but I used it as a first essence. It’s got a water-but-thicker texture and performs about the same as the Purebess 100% Galactomyces Extract, which I like, but pales in performance compared to something like the From Nature ATE. Will not repurchase.

SNP Bird’s Nest Aqua Eye Patch
Bought these after reading this amazing comparative Hydrogel Eye Patch review. I LOVE THESE! I use them under my eyes to help plump out the tiny-but-present wrinkles. I use them like Frownies on my forehead. They do give me tiny cc’s if I try to use them around my mouth (that’s where I’m the most acne-prone) but that’s ok. I don’t particularly like the sensation of having hydrogel patches there anyways. Definitely will repurchase!

CosRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream
Still my favorite snail cream to date – it leaves my skin so soft and bouncy! This is the second tub I’ve gone through and I have no plans to remove it from my routine.

Reishi Shop Spa Cream
This was a random rakuten purchase. It contains a host of beneficial and interesting ingredients such as mushroom (reishi and cordyceps extract), horse oil, astaxanthin, ostrich oil, hotspring water, and bamboo vinegar liquid. In the jar, it has an interesting custard-like texture, but when you rub it into your skin it gives way to these water droplets. I wasn’t planning to repurchase, but it’s actually proven to be one of my favorite hot-weather creams.

Sonbahyu Horse Oil
This is pure horse oil, probably not something for the faint of heart. Personally, it’s one of my favorite face (and body) oils for moisture. It’s also 100% scentless, which I’ve heard not all horse oil products are.

Iope Air Cushion XP in N31
My skintone is just a little too tan (~NC25) to use most Korean base-makeup products, but there are a few cushions (the others being Laniege BB Cushion in Light/Medium or Medium and Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion in 25) that I can use. The Amore and Aritaum stores in the US carry the Iope cushion in N31, which suits my skintone. I probably won’t repurchase this because the Laneige BB Cushion is a better match for my undertones because I still prefer foundations in general to cushions, but I did like this cushion quite a bit!

Memebox Discount Codes

I am blatantly stealing this idea from Fanserviced but it seems wasteful for me to hoard all these codes to myself when there are so many sales going on at Memebox right now, right?

The codes below, which you are free to use on a first-come-first serve basis, should work for anyone. If you are new to Memebox, you also have the option to use this link to get 20% off your first order. Also, you can get an additional 8% cash back on all Memebox purchases through Topcashback.

It’s great that you actually use up your non-repurchase items; I usually just leave them on a shelf for them to think about what they’ve done, or give away/sell to people who actually want them. Lol. What did you like about the Iope cushion? I find that Laneige’s undertones aren’t quite right for me. :/

Also, that’s a really good idea to inspire others to use up their products! Social media can be a great tool when used properly, huh? 🙂

I give myself goals such as if I finish X, I can buy Y haha. It helps a lot! But actually, it feels really great to finish a product and doing empties posts helps with accountability.

With the Iope cushions, I’ve tried both the Iope N23 and N31. The 23 was too pink/cool toned for me so I was worried 31 would be too, but it’s a lot warmer. I’d say Iope is the most warm, Laneige is best for yellow/green undertones, and Sulwhasoo is the most yellow. The coverage is nice, dewy, and natural and lasts 6-ish hours before it starts to get a little patchy on my skin. I’m not the best with describing colors, but maybe that helps give you an idea!

Now I’m tempted to buy the Reishi Shop Spa Cream. It has so many ingredients my skin love. Although I am a bit wary of ostrich oil! Thanks for such a great post. Always love empties posts to see what people end up finishing. 👍💖

Do you use the cream as a day or night cream? I take a reishi and cordyceps tincture internally and recently started to mix it in my cream to apply externally. I love the effects of it but want to find a cream that has those ingredients instead. So I would love to know more about the product! There isn’t much information out there for it.

Ooh what kind of effects are you seeing? My concern with creams that seem to contain every ingredient under the sun is that the concentration of each ingredient might be a little low since the %s aren’t listed. That said, I really do like this cream. It strikes a great balance between hydration and occlusion for day time use, which most creams can’t seem to get right (for my skin), but I can’t comment specifically on what the reishi and cordycep extracts are doing specifically.

So sorry. I got back so late. Cordyceps and reishi are really good at repairing and supporting the lungs in chinese medicine..and the lungs helps with moistening the skin. Externally it has help dramtically with my acne and brighten my skin. Of course my tincture has both in very high concentrations so I don’t know how it will be in creams
