AVECKO Haul: Ginseng, Honey, and Masks Galore!

I’ve been trying my very best to practice responsible hauling, but had a moment of weakness at the beginning of this month when I went a little crazy. This is the second haul I received last week (the first from Rakuten). In addition, I placed not one but TWO orders with Avecko, two days apart. This is the first and it showed up on my doorstep Saturday, a mere EIGHT DAYS after it shipped, which is pretty freaking amazing.

What is Avecko?

Avecko is a magical service that allows you to buy things not normally available to people outside Korea. You submit links of items, beauty or otherwise, to Avecko who orders and receives the items, then boxes everything up and ships it to you, wherever you are in the world. For more info on how to use (and not use) Avecko, see Fanserviced and/or Holy Snail’s guides. If you’re confused about how to browse and find things on Korean websites, see Cat Cactus and Kahime’s guide!

What I Ordered and How Much I Paid

Clockwise starting from the top left:

  • Sooryehan ginseng juice cream // 11900 KRW or $10.77 USD
  • Sooryehan ginseng juice essence // 11900 KRW or $10.77 USD
  • Let’s Cure Honeybunny Propolis Ampoule // 10500 KRW or $9.51 USD
  • Let’s Cure Pure Skin Basic Step Exfoliator // 14800 KRW or $13.40 USD
  • T.P.O Bondpack // 10000 KRW or $9.05 USD
  • Evercos Licorice Sheet Mask X 10 // 10900 KRW or $10.36 USD
  • Evercos Ginseng Sheet Mask X 10 // 10900 KRW or $10.36 USD
  • Leejiham Tea Tree Facial Mask Sheet X 10 //  9800 KRW or $8.87 USD

Total product cost + 10% handling fee came out to $95.93. Shipping came out to $40.50.

I ordered everything from Memebox (the Korean site, not US), 11st, and wemakeprice.

Let’s Cure Honeybunny Propolis Ampoule

. A brand that names its products Honeybunny is one I want to support. The ampoule smells a bit strong and herbal. Hoping that won’t pose problems.

Let’s Cure Pure Skin Basic Step Exfoliator

Edit 8/2/2015: full review posted here!

This contains AHA and BHA and has a pH of 4.5 (according to the manufacturer). Not low enough to exfoliate, but low enough to use as a pH adjusting toner.

TPO BondPack

This starts out as a gel but turns into a Patrick Bateman type peel-off mask!!!

It also contains honey, which is a plus! I tested it on my hand and seems to work pretty well!

Evercos Licorice and Ginseng Sheet Masks

I’ve been craving these ever since I saw them on Snow White and the Pear. I gave one of the ginseng masks a spin the minute I got this haul and it is amazing.

Leejiham LJH Tea Tree Facial Mask Sheets

These are $3 a pop on the Memebox US website, but about $1 each from Memebox Korea. I really can’t resist a deal.

Lastly, Avecko threw in these two sheet masks as samples! The brand is new to me, so I’m pretty excited to give them a try!

It’s been a few months since my previous Avecko haul, and although I didn’t run into any problems, the response time has definitely slowed. Previously, Ray or Hena would have my order page set up within 24 hours of my placing an order request, but the turn around this time is roughly 2 days. Overall, the service is still very fast, but I suspect they haven’t been able to scale up their operations to meet the increasing demand.

Reviews of everything to come! Please ask if you have any specific questions!
